Liverpool: Torres does not feel disappointed by the Ballon de or
Spanish is confessed in an interview with the German magazine 'Kicker'
The Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo is "fair winner of the Ballon de or with his goals and titles achieved in the last season, while denying being "disappointed" by having been in third place, behind Portuguese and Leo Messi.
"It is a machine for making goals," said Torres on the Portuguese told the German magazine 'Kicker'. In the interview, says the Madrid feeling "proud and happy" to have been just behind "these two monsters," something which, he says, "was unthinkable a year ago."
Aware of his good season with Liverpool, who with the lofty goal of the finals in Germany before the European Championship, Torres says that his move to the Premier he had made a "quantum leap" in their style of play.
The striker, 24, makes his improvement to the fact that his head has more free, "Here I am no longer in Madrid as a player on which everything is concentrated," says Torres.
It also admits that assuming the captaincy from Atletico at age 19 hurt him: "I did not have any experience, how could I be the leader of other more experienced than me? That was a pressure."
On his transfer to Anfield Road club, Torres admits that the day when Rafa Benitez telephoned him to offer his signing believed that it was "a joke" by what he called immediately to his partner selection and the Liverpool goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, to verify the phone number of the coach.
Satisfied with his new life in Britain, Madrid striker says that "Liverpool has a dimension different from that of Atletico Madrid," although he says that the team's Manzanares will always be "the club of his life." Therefore, he adds, his "dream" is to play the final of the Champions League this year against Atletico at the Bernabeu.
